| Shanghai Software Industry Association
(SSIA), established in 1986, is a cross-city and non-profit association.
It was founded voluntarily by companies and institutions which engaged
in computer software research and development, sales, training and
software industry service and counseling.
With the guidance and support of the development department of
Shanghai Industry Association, SSIA has accomplished the adjustment
and reform and a new board of trustees has been voted. SSIA will
continue to comply with the basic mission that “serving, regulating,
representing, and coordinating the industry”, thus promoting the
rapid development of shanghai software industry and expanding the
scale of shanghai software companies.
SSIA now has more than 300 members of companies and institutions,
which account for more than 30% of registered software companies.
The current president of SSIA is Mr. Dewei Sun and Secretary-General
is Mr. Sanyuan Zhu.
There are 5 branches of professional committees under SSIA, including
computer-assisted design committee, software quality regulation
committee, software component committee, educational software committee
and intellectual property protection committee.
The SSIA mainly undertakes the following responsibilities: the
annual and seasonal summary of the economic statistics of shanghai
software industry, the evaluation of shanghai software companies
and the registration work of software products, the survey and seminar
of software industry, the authorization of related laws and disciplines
etc.
