Established in 1986, Shanghai Software Industry Association (SSIA) has enjoyed a profound and productive history.

Especially during the late five years, as the social environment and government regulations have been gradually optimized, the software industry is moving to the fast track with a 50% annual growth rate. At the same time, SSIA has also expanded its mission and promoted its vision by in compliance with the slogan that “serving, regulating, representing, and coordinating the industry”.

Serving the industry
In 2001 and 2002, SSIA launched the propaganda and counseling of the Two Soft (the authorization of software products and software companies). Since then, SSIA has assisted many companies though the process of Two Soft and promoted the competence of the software industry.

Regulating the industry
In the period from 2001 to 2003, in order to prevent vicious competition, after a thorough study of software products, SSIA introduced a system of recommended price, which played an active role at that time.

Representing the industry
The initial members of SSIA were mainly universities, research centers and information centers of companies. With the development of software industry, the crews of members are expanding. After the reform and adjustment in 2002, the new sets of members are mainly software companies, so SSIA can better represent the industry.

Coordinating the industry
SSIA has spent a lot of efforts in coordinating the software industry. According to the fact that shanghai software industry lacks the brand fame, two alliances ISCBA (International software Collaborative Development Alliance) and JSCBA(Japan Software Collaborative development alliance) are formed. Besides this, various seminars and exchanges activity have been organized by SSIA since 2000.
